About Skydive Palatka
Skydive Palatka is the oldest skydiving center in North Florida, operating continuously from Kay Larkin Field in Palatka, Florida since 1995. Now family-oriented and pet-friendly with a laid-back atmosphere, the dropzone welcomes skydivers of all levels and operates year-round Thursday through Sunday, positioning itself as an accessible, welcoming destination for both first-timers and experienced jumpers.
Located 50 miles south of Jacksonville and less than a mile from the nearest hotel, Skydive Palatka operates a fleet including a 2 Cessna 182, making it convenient for skydivers across Florida's East Coast. The dropzone's 29-year operational history in the same region establishes deep local roots and consistent operations—a significant advantage for reliability and experience.
The facility caters to multiple experience levels with a comprehensive range of programs. First-time jumpers can choose tandem skydiving with pricing scaled for group sizes—$220 per jumper for groups of 1–2, dropping to $195 for groups of 5 or more, with military discounts available. Those seeking structured progression can enroll in the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) program, a 7-jump certification course where students advance through clearly defined skill stages, from altitude awareness and canopy piloting through unassisted freefall and advanced maneuvers. AFF pricing starts at $355 for Jump 1 + Course, $215 for Jumps 2–3, $182 for Jumps 4–7, and $29 for Jump 8. Experienced jumpers can pursue high-altitude jumps up to 10,500 feet for $31 per jump.
Beyond basic jumps, Skydive Palatka offers coach jumps at $95, video and photo packages ($99), and specialized rigging services including reserve repacks ($90), parachute assembly and inspection ($25 each), and pilot emergency repacks ($80). Gear rental runs $35 per jump or $70 per day, and altimeter rental is available at $5 daily. The AFF training program is complemented by tandem and SL (student load) instruction.
Amenities support both casual visitors and serious sport jumpers: designated camping areas, equipment rentals and sales, packing service, rigging service, RV spaces with electricity, shower facilities, team rooms, and videography services. The Southeast Region dropzone maintains a relaxed, inclusive environment reflected in its "family oriented, pet friendly and laid back" philosophy while delivering professional training and safety services.
Skydive Palatka's nearly three-decade track record, consistent year-round operations, transparent pricing, and full-service training infrastructure make it a reliable choice for skydivers seeking instruction, certification, or recreational jumping in North Florida and the greater East Coast region.
